SPEND SOME TIME WITH OUR LOCAL WINERY
Meet dynamic duo Richard and Patricia, founders and owners of Razorback Ridge Wines.
Discover why they chose Menangle for their business, and how they turned their hobby into a successful winery.
Let's start with a little bit about you
Richard....My background is in Mechanical Engineering associated with the design and manufacture of special purpose machinery, equipment and manufacturing plant. During this time, we planted some vines as a hobby which got out of hand and the rest is history. My interests include the restoration of classic cars, camping, fishing and exploring outback Australia.
Patricia....I worked in education prior to retiring and becoming involved in Razorback Ridge Wines. My hobbies include yoga, singing in a choir, gardening and exploring outback Australia.
And a little bit about your business?
Razorback Ridge Wines is a small family run business. We planted our first vines in 2000. This was initially intended to be a hobby BUT… ideas grew and here we are now with a 10 acre vineyard, a winery, a winemaking degree and a cellar door! We offer hand crafted wines produced on-site from estate-grown grapes.
It has been hands on all of the way with the planting, picking and pruning of the grapes in the vineyard through to winemaking and marketing. This was a totally new venture in every respect, and we love it. We have met many wonderful people, have learned so much, get to work outdoors and all whilst living and working in a beautiful environment. Over ten years ago, we opened our cellar door.
Over the years our wine making skills and knowledge have grown, and of course our wine quality has improved and as a consequence, we have received several silver and bronze medals for our wines. We have come close to getting that elusive gold medal and are still aiming to get there!
Why Menangle for your business?
